Rainbow Warrior Baseball Takes Down Alumni, 10-0

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i kicked off the 2015 baseball season with its annual alumni game, beating the former 'Bows 10-0 on Saturday afternoon at Les Murakami Stadium. Starter and newcomer Tyler Brashears earned the win, recording five strikeouts and allowing just two hits in seven scoreless innings of work.

Stephen Ventimilia led the 'Bows at the plate, batting 5-6 with two runs and one RBI. Kaeo Aliviado had three hits, three runs, and three RBI with Jordan Richartz adding two hits and one RBI.

Aliviado provided the fireworks in the fourth inning, ripping a two-run homer over the right field wall to give his team a 7-0 lead.

UH put three runs on the board in the first inning and tacked on two each in the second, third, and fourth innings.

Former 'Bow and St. Louis Cardinal big leaguer Kolten Wong was in attendance on the eve of heading out to spring training. Wong started the festivities by throwing out the first pitch.

UH opens the regular this week with a four-game series against Oregon beginning Friday, Feb. 13.
