Game NotesHONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warrior baseball team will put the finishing touches on the 2014 season this week, hosting UC Riverside for three Big West Conference games at Les Murakami Stadium. The 'Bows and Highlanders will play Thursday, May 22 (6:35 p.m.), Friday, May 23 (6:35 p.m.), and Saturday, May 24 (6:35 p.m.).
Saturday's season finale will be senior day for 10 players who will be suiting up in a Rainbow Warrior uniform for the last time. A special on-field ceremony will be held following the game in recognition for their services to University of Hawai'i baseball.
The 'Bows are fresh off their final road trip of the season where they lost two of three games at UC Davis. They edged the Aggies by one run in the opener before dropping the final two games of the series.
Matt Cooper continues to be the star of the Rainbow Warrior pitching staff. Cooper is just five strikeouts away from becoming just the 15
th different UH pitcher to post 100 strikeouts in a season, and only three starting pitchers in UH history have ever finished a season with a lower ERA than
Matt Cooper's current 1.64 ERA.
