Rainbows Conclude Long Road Trip At Louisiana Tech

Game Notes

HONOLULU – After winning two of three games against San Jose State, and topping Grambling State on Tuesday in a non-conference contest, the University of Hawai'i baseball team will travel to Ruston, La. for a three-game series against Louisiana Tech. The Rainbows and Bulldogs will play Thursday, Apr. 26 (6:00 p.m. CT), Friday, Apr. 27 (6:00 p.m. CT), and Saturday, Apr. 28 (3:00 p.m. CT).

The 'Bows are coming off their first Western Athletic Conference road series where they twice beat previously unbeaten San Jose State. Hawai'i is currently 24-16 overall and at 4-2 is tied in the loss column atop the WAC standings.

On Saturday versus the Spartans, pitcher Jarrett Arakawa (5-3) delivered another strong performance. He scattered five hits over 7.2 innings and allowed just one earned run with two strikeouts. Arakawa has a conference-best 1.69 ERA and leads the WAC in innings pitched (69.1).

Leadoff hitter Stephen Ventimilia continues to lead UH at the plate and has a WAC-high 12 stolen bases. He is batting .329 for the season and hit .429 (6-14) in UH's three games against San Jose State.

Brent Harrison is evolving into Hawai'i's closer out of what has been a solid Rainbow bullpen. He is among the WAC leaders in saves after collecting his sixth on the season this past Saturday. He leads the Rainbows with a 0.76 earned run average.
