Several Rainbow Wahine Track Athletes Shine In Cali

The University of Hawai'i women's track and field team split its squad, Friday, with half competing at the Mt. SAC Relays in Walnut, Calif., and the other half competing at the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif.
 
At the Bryan Clay Invitational, Emma MacCorquodale bested her personal record in the hammer throw with a mark of 182-4 (55.58m), which placed her second in the competition.
 
Freshman Ashley Satterwhite continued to impress with a pair of Top 10 all-time performances in the 100-meter (12.39) and 200-meter (25.18), both of which rank seventh on the school's list.
 
Over at the Mt. SAC Relays, senior Ashley Aitken continued her chase for the school's 1500-meter record with a new personal best and fourth fastest time in school history of 4:27.72.
 
Reigning WAC Athlete of the Week Madara Apine placed 11th in the triple jump with a mark of 40-6 (12.34m) while junior Sarah Saddleton tied for 10th in the high jump with a mark of 5-7 (1.70m).
 
The Rainbow Wahine conclude their road trip Saturday by competing in the Beach Invitational in Norwalk, Calif.
