HONOLULU—The University of Hawai`i softball team swept Chaminade in a doubleheader on Saturday, 13-0 and 19-2 at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. Junior pitcher
Kaia Parnaby fired a no-hit shut-out with 15 strike outs in the first game while UH's offense racked up 30 hits on the afternoon—highlighted by eight doubles and eight home runs.

Parnaby fired a no-hit shut-out in the exhibition game, fanning a career-high 15 Silverswords with no walks. She faced just one batter over the minimum with the only runner reaching on a fielding error.
The 'Bows got off to a hot start with the first four batters of the game scoring.
Kelly Majam led things off with a double to the right-centerfield gap and Kayla Wartner followed by driving in Majam in with a sharp single up the middle.
Sharla Kliebenstein drew a walk to put runners at first and second.
Jessica Iwata then drilled a double down the leftfield line to score Wartner. With runners at first and second,
Sarah Robinson then cleared the bases with a solid hit up the middle to cap the scoring at 4-0.
In the second inning, Majam hit an opposite field fly ball to left that tailed off the glove of the waiting leftfielder for a three-base error. Majam then scored on a wild pitch to increase UH's lead to 5-0.
The Rainbow Wahine then erupted for five runs in the bottom of the third. Robinson led the inning off launching a solo home run to straightaway centerfield. That chased Chaminade starter Brett Aspel who was replaced by Kaitlyn Watanabe.

Brynne Buchanan, and Wartner all scored in the inning highlighted by Iwata's two-run double to the left-centerfield gap that gave the 'Bows a 10-0 lead after three innings of play.
In the fourth inning, Leisha Li`ili`i hammered a three run bullet that sailed over the rightfield fence on a line. Li`ili`i's blast raised UH's lead to 13-0.
Chaminade's Aspel threw the first two innings, giving up six runs on five hits with two walks and a strike out. Watanabe fired the next two innings, giving up seven runs on six hits with three walks. Rayna Strom-Okimoto finished the game throwing the final two innings holding UH scoreless with a walk and two strike outs.

Stephanie Ricketts earned the win in the second game, holding the Silverswords scoreless through her five innings of work. Ricketts gave up one hit while striking out six with no walks.
Makani Duhaylonsod-Kaleimamahu closed the game, throwing the final two innings. She gave up two runs on four hits with two walks.
The UH offense pumped out 19 runs on 18 hits—11 of them were of the extra-base variety, including six home runs.
The Rainbow Wahine jumped out to a 7-0 lead on three home runs and batted around the line-up in the first inning and never looked back. Wartner started the hit barrage with a bomb over the right-centerfield fence. Later, Aguirre launched a three-run homer over the leftfield fence and
Dara Pagaduan joined the club with another two-run home run to left.
In the second inning, Wartner drew a walk and was followed by Kliebenstein who doubled to left-centerfield to put runners at second and third for Iwata. Iwata then crushed a three-run home run to leftfield to give UH a 10-0 lead after two innings.
The 'Bows posted six more runs in the third inning that was highlighted by a two-run, opposite-field double hit by Buchanan to clear the bases.
Jazmine Zamora then got a single off the pitcher to score Buchanan.
Tara Anguiano later singled to leftfield to drive in Zamora and Austin Wilkerson drove in a run on a sacrifice fly to score Jordan Burton. Duhaylonsod-Kaleimamahu completed the scoring in the inning with an RBI single through the leftside of the infield to push UH's lead to 16-0.
Buchanan then hit her first home run in a Rainbow Wahine uniform over the leftfield fence to up the 'Bows lead to 17-0 after four innings. In the sixth inning, Majam added a solo blast to left for her first homer of the series and Iwata finished UH's scoring with an RBI double to leftfield that gave UH a 19-0 lead.
Chaminade posted their two runs in the top of the seventh. Samantha Ford reached on a double to left-centerfield and later scored on a wild pitch. Therese Capplonch later scored on Anuhea Yamaguchi's RBI single to right-centerfield. On the play, Yamaguchi tried to stretch out her hit that had rolled to the fence into a double, but Majam gunned her down at second to end the game.

For the series Hawai`i as a team hit .424 while holding the Silverswords to .100 batting average. Iwata hit an even .500 (6-for-12) with three doubles, three home runs, four runs scored, 10 RBI and a team-high slugging percentage of 1.182. Pagaduan led UH at the plate overall, hitting .750 (8-for-6) with a home run and four RBI.
The Rainbow Wahine will travel to Maui to close out their fall season next weekend with a single game against UH-Hilo. UH will play the Vulcans in a single game at 12:00 pm at the Maui High School Softball Stadium on Saturday, Nov. 12.
