Biography

2010 (Senior): Named second-team all-WAC...ranked seventh nationally with 100.5 receiving yards per game and 13th in receptions per game at 6.8...named to ESPN CoSIDA Academic All-America first team, becoming just the second player in school history to earn that distinction...finished with 1,306 receiving yards, the fifth highest single-season total in school history...ranked second on the team with 15 touchdowns...had six 100-yard receiving games and four multiple touchdown games...recorded a TD in 10 of 12 games played...school-record 18 catches and career-high 217 yards in win over Louisiana Tech (Oct. 2), which earned him WAC Player of the Week honors...scored three times and had five catches for 176 yards in season-opener against USC (Sept. 2)...nine catches for 154 yards and one score vs. San Jose State (Nov. 20) and nine catches for 157 yards and a TD vs. UNLV (Dec. 4)...six catches for 117 yards and a TD at Colorado (Sept. 18) and six catches for 104 yards and a score at Army (Sept. 11)...scored two TDs against Charleston Southern (Sept. 25) and Nevada (Oct. 16)...named academic all-WAC.
 
2009 (Junior): Started all 13 games at “X” or “Y” receiver…totaled 66 receptions for 690 yards and four touchdowns…ranked third in the WAC and 50th nationally in receptions per game (5.1)…had four receptions of 25 yards or more…10th in the WAC in receiving yards per game (53.1)…returned seven kickoffs for 156 yards (22.3 avg)…two receiving touchdowns along with eight receptions for 102 yards against Navy (Nov. 28)…career-high 13 receptions for 146 yards at UNLV (Sept. 19)…had two 100-plus receiving yard games…season-long 32-yard kickoff return at Idaho (Oct. 17)…named to the all-WAC academic team.
 
2008 (Sophomore): Played in 10 games with four starts at running back...also lined up at slotback and saw brief time as a punt returner...led team with seven touchdowns, including five rushing and two receiving...carried the ball 56 times for 300 yards and averaged a team-high 5.6 yards per carry...also had 29 catches for 246 yards...scored a touchdown in three straight games: Weber State (Sept. 6), at Oregon State (Sept. 13) San Jose State (Sept. 27), including both of UH’s touchdowns in loss to San Jose State...had season-high 109 yards of offense in win at New Mexico State (Nov. 8), including career-high 10 catches for 90 yards and a touchdown...academic all-WAC...a UH scholar-athlete.
 
2007 (Freshman): Appeared in 11 games at running back and made one start against Utah State (Oct. 6)...led the team in rushing with 388 yards on 68 carries and three TDs...also had 26 receptions for 249 yards and one score...rushed 11 times for 62 yards at UNLV (Sept. 15)...had 10 carries for 52 yards and a score at San Jose State (Oct. 12)...scored in consecutive games against Utah State and San Jose State (Oct. 12)...academic all-WAC.
 
Prep: A 2006 graduate of Damien Memorial School on O‘ahu...earned four letters in both football and track...also lettered three years in basketball and one in paddling...a first-team all-state player his senior season...2006 state Offensive Player of the Year...selected to the 2006 Nissan Hall of Honor...two-time state triple-jump champion...the 2005 league Track Athlete of the Year...led team to the 2004 league championship in football...a member of the yearbook staff...senior class president.
 
Personal: Born in Honolulu, O‘ahu...majoring in kinesiology and recreation science...has two older sisters...parents are Marlene and Douglas Pilares of Wahiawa, O‘ahu.
