Awards & Honors: All-WAC defensive team (2006, 2007)...all-WAC newcomer team (2006)...Outrigger Hotels Rainbow Classic all-tournament team (2005, 2006). 

2006-07 (Senior): Named to all-WAC defensive team...team leader in rebounding (8.4) and blocked shots (2.2)...started 30 games...tied career-high with 21 points in loss at Nevada (Feb. 3)...also had 10 rebounds and three blocks in that game...scored 20 points against San Francisco (Dec. 20)...also scored 20 points and had career-hgih 14 rebounds in loss to Nevada (Jan. 13)...recorded 14 points, 13 rebounds and seven blocks at San Jose State (Feb. 24)...posted 19 points and 10 rebounds against Coppin State (Nov. 13) and 19 points and eight rebounds against Creighton (Dec. 23) in Rainbow Classic title game...earned Rainbow Classic all-tournament team honors...played all 40 minutes and had 16 points and 12 rebounds in season-opener at UNLV (Nov. 10)...had five blocks against Utah State (Jan. 29)...had seven double-doubles...18 double figure scoring games...10 games of double-figure rebounds...held scoreless for first time in career at Santa Clara (Nov. 29)...three 20-point games.

2005-06 (Junior): Named to the WAC's all-newcomer and all-defensive teams...missed the final two games of the season...scored in double figures in 19 games...started 26 games...career-high 21 points on 10-of-12 shooting at UNLV (Nov. 22)...double-double (14 pts/13 rebs) and four blocks vs. Loyola Marymount (Dec. 20)...had 14 points on 7-of-7 shooting, 11 rebounds and three blocks at Boise State (Feb. 11)...recorded 12 points, 12 rebounds and five blocks vs. Colorado State (Dec. 22)...averaged 19.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 blocks in two games against San Jose State...had 12 points and 11 rebounds against Santa Clara (Feb. 18)...posted five blocks vs. Saint Louis (Nov. 26), Colorado State (Dec. 22) and at Fresno State (Feb. 13)...season-low four points at Nevada (Jan. 28)...four double-doubles...one 20-point game.

Summer 2005: Played for the African Select Team at the Global Games in Dallas...team lost in the quarterfinals...named to the all-tournament team. 

Prior to UH: Played two seasons at Salt Lake Community College in Utah...as a sophomore, averaged 10.6 points and 5.9 rebounds per game and was named to the Region XVIII second team...in addition, shot 61.9 percent from the floor and had a team-high 33 blocks...led the Bruins to a 27-6 record and to the championship game of the SWAC Tournament, in which he was named to the all-tournament team...as a freshman, started 20 games and averaged 7.3 points and 4.2 rebounds per game...chose UH over Utah, Brigham Young, Utah State, and Boise State.

Prep: A 2000 graduate of Yalla Suur En High School in Dakar, Senegal...earned four letters in basketball...team was a finalist in the state tournament twice...named to the state all-tournament team during senior year.

Personal: Born in Dakar, Senegal...has two brothers and one sister...parents are Seynabou and Abdoulaye Gueye of Dakar, Senegal.
