Biography

2010 (Senior): Started 28 of 29 matches at middle blocker…averaged 2.17 kills and a team-leading 1.20 blocks per set, which ranked sixth in the MPSF…led all UH starters with a .376 percentage on the year…only the third player in school history to record 500 career kills and 400 blocks…finished fourth all-time with 406 blocks (34 solo, 372 assists)…hit in double figures 10 times, including a career-best 14 kills on 20 swings in the first of two wins over Hope International (Feb. 28)…had 11 kills with no errors in 18 attempts for a season-best .611 hitting percentage against Pepperdine in the MPSF Tournament quarterfinals (April 24)…also had eight blocks in that match against the Waves.
 
2009 (Junior): Competed in 71 sets and started 19 of 22 matches…averaged 1.37 kills and 1.17 blocks per set…posted .289 hitting percentage…finished second on the team in total blocks with 83 and 23rd nationally…recorded four or more blocks in nine matches…amassed 97 kills with a .289 kill percentage, third-best on the team….best performance of the year came against UC Santa Barbara (March 5) when he tallied nine kills on 15 attempts and added four blocks…had season-high 10 kills against Pepperdine (Jan. 16).

2008 (Sophomore): Played in 57 games in 18 matches...tallied 57 kills for a 1.33 kill average...fourth on the team in total blocks with 77 for a 1.35 average...ranked fifth in MPSF and 20th nationally in blocks...tied career-high of nine kills against UC Irvine on Mar. 14...season-high nine blocks at USC (Mar. 21), the same match in which he hit .538 with eight kills on 13 swings.

2007 (Freshman): Played 91 games in 27 matches, started 24...tallied 142 kills for fifth best on team...second on squad with 119 blocks...averaged 1.31 blocks per game...recorded a season-high 10 blocks against Long Beach State (Apr. 7).

2006: Redshirted.

Prep : A 2005 graduate of Mira Costa High School in California...transferred from St. Bernard High School and sat out his junior season...lettered one year in volleyball at Mira Costa under head coach Mike Cook...was a first-team all-league and all-federation selection...Daily Breeze Player of the Year...was a member of the 2003 Youth National and 2004 Junior National teams.

Personal: Born in Los Angeles...plans to major in business...has two brothers and one sister...parents are Mike and Dona Rawson of Manhattan Beach, Calif.
