Biography

2010 (Senior): Started all 29 matches at libero…played in all 109 sets…finished his career as the school’s career leader in digs with 936…also the school’s career digs per set leader with a 2.77 average…ranked sixth in the MPSF with a 2.59 average…recorded double-figure digs in 16 matches…season-high 16 digs in four-set loss to UCLA (Feb. 4)…had 14 digs against Pepperdine in MPSF Tournament quarterfinals (April 24)…also posted 14 digs against UC Santa Barbara (April 17) and UC Irvine (Jan. 30)…tallied 76 assists.
 
2009 (Junior): Named honorable mention all-MPSF…competed in 75 set and started 24 matches at libero…finished fourth in the MPSF and 12th nationally in digs per set at 2.72…posted seven double figure dig matches and 204 total digs…season-high 17 digs in three-set loss to Stanford (Feb. 28)…recorded 33 assists…posted 16 digs against Pepperdine (Jan. 15) and Stanford (Feb. 26).

2008 (Sophomore): Played in 103 games in 26 matches...named to the all-MPSF third team...led the MPSF and ranked second nationally with a 3.32 digs per game average...recorded 21 double figure dig matches...his career-high 28 digs against Cal State Northridge (Mar. 25) was a new MPSF rally scoring record...also set the new school single-season record in digs with 342...dig average was also a new single-season school record...only five single-digit dig totals in 26 matches.

2007 (Freshman): Played 51 games in 17 matches...averaged 2.12 digs per game, second on the team...sported four matches with double-digit digs...posted a season-high 13 digs against both Pepperdine (Mar. 10) and Cal State Northridge (Mar. 17).

Prep: A 2006 graduate of Santa Barbara High School in California...lettered in volleyball...garnered MVP honors of the Channel League and the 2006 Dos Pueblos Invitational...selected to the Francis Parker All-Tournament team...a CIF first team pick.

Personal: Born in Santa Barbara, Calif...enrolled in the College of Arts & Sciences...has two brothers, Cole and Shane...parents are Victor and Susan Cervantes of Santa Barbara, Calif.
