Biography

2014-15 (Senior):
-Competed in 19 singles matches and 18 doubles matches
-Recorded a 5-14 overall singles record while going 5-11 in dual matches and 2-3 in Big West contests
-In nine matches on the No. 2 court posted a 3-6 record while going 1-5 in six matches on No. 3 court and won his only match on No.1 court
-Went 9-9 overall in doubles play, with a 9-6 mark in dual matches and 1-1 in conference play. Partnered once each with Marcel Chan, Kula Companion, and Faiban Woehrl and 15 times with Felix Albert going 8-7 in those matches
-Posted a three-game singles win streak (Jan. 31-March 1)
-Had a four-match doubles win streak including a 7-6 (7-5) victory over No. 33 Boise State's (Jan. 18) Brian Foley and Abe Hewko, with partner Felix Albert
-Earned All-Big West second team honors in singles for the second time in his four-year career after being named an all-Big West player after earning honorable mention honors last year as a junior.
-Became the first Rainbow Warrior to be selected to the Intercollegiate Tennis Association’s (ITA) All-Academic Team for four consecutive seasons
-Honored as one of UH’s “Top 5 Rainbow Warrior Academic Honorees” at this year’s H-Awards
-Earned the first-ever Jennifer Matsuda Award which is given to UH’s top male and female scholar-athlete with the highest cumulative GPA

2013-14 (Junior):
-Earned Big West honorable mention honors in singles
-Went 9-10 in singles overall and 3-1 in Big West play
-Was 3-7 in doubles
-Had a four-match singles win streak including a win at two singles against No. 21 Oklahoma State (3/18/14)
-Won four of his last five singles matches
-Opened the season winning at No. 3 doubles at No. 42 Pepperdine
-Won in both singles and doubles at UC Davis (4/25/14)

2012-13 (Sophomore):
-Played in 19 singles and eight doubles matches on the season
-Predominately played on the No. 4 Court (7-10) but played one match on the No. 5 (1-0) and No. 6 (1-0) Courts
-Went 5-1 in Big West Conference matchups
-Went on a four match win streak earlier in the season (Jan. 18-Feb. 21)

2011-12 (Freshman)
-Competed in 17 dual matches in his rookie season
-First career-win came against Nevada (3/12) where he helped beat Nevada in the first WAC match of the season
-Named WAC player of the week
-Saw the most success on the No. 3 court going 5-2 and winning his last three singles matches
-Won his first WAC tournament match against Utah State (4/27)
-Went 9-8 in singles and 3-3 in doubles overall
-Went 5-1 in his last six matches
-Had a 3-2 record in his last five doubles matches

Prep:
-A 2011 graduate of Kapa'a High School in Kapa'a, Kaua'i
-Was a four-time Kauai Interscholastic Federation singles champion
-Won 2011 state singles title
-Named Kapa'a High School 2010-11 Athlete of the Year
-Has been ranked as high as No. 57 in the nation for the Boys U18 division
-Recipient of the Jane Forester Leong Award and Jim Howe Sportsmanship Award
