Biography

2014-15 (Freshman):
• Competed in seven singles and seven doubles matches before an season-ending injury held Wehnelt off the court for the rest of the year
• Posted a 2-5 overall singles record all of which were dual matches
• Played in six matches on No. 2 court going 2-4, also had one match on No.1 court
• Went 3-4 in dual match doubles play with partner Marcel Chan in all 7 matches
• Won his first career singles match on Jan. 24 beating Pacific’s Sam Verbeek (7-5, 6-3)
• Earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors
• Named Big West Men’s Tennis Athlete of the Week (Jan. 28) after winning his first career singles match as well as a pair of doubles matches in consecutive matches against Pacific

Prep:
• A 2012 graduate of Schiller Gymnasium in Potsdam, Germany
• Was No. 5 in the German national junior ranking and No. 125 in the men’s ranking, both in 2013
• In summer of 2014, advanced to the finals of Hessische Herrenmeisterschaften where he fell to the ITA’s top-ranked player
• Won several mens tennis tournaments with his biggest wins coming in Berlin 2014, Landau 2013 and Münster 2013
• Beat former ATP No. 222 ranked player for first ATP points
