2007-08 (Sophomore): Finished third in the 200 yard breast event (2:10.33) against Arizona State (Sept. 28)...finished fourth in 200 yeard breast event (2:04.67) at the Conference USA Championships...recorded second best time on the team in the 100 breast (56.83) and the 200 breast (2:06.92) events.

2006-2007 (Freshman): Competed in the 100 Breast, finished second on the team with a 56.83 at the C-USA Men's Invitational...also recorded a 2:11.72 in the 200 Breast at the Texas Invitational, good for third on the team.

Prep: A 2006 graduate of Omaha Gross Catholic High School in Nebraska...lettered four years in swimming and three in football...was an all-state swimmer for head coach Docker Hartfield.

Personal: Born Sept. 29, 1987, in Virginia Beach, Va...plans to major in pre-med...plans to attend medical school following graduation...has one sister...parents are Norma and Walter Kirkland III.
