NORMAN, Okla. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team placed three members on the 2025-26 NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars list. Nathan Szpakowicz, Dane Watanabe, and James Whitworth were among the 649 Division I athletes from 210 schools to earn the prestigious recognition.
 
Watanabe and Whitworth were recognized last year when a UH-record six golfers were honored. This year marks the third consecutive year that three or more Rainbow Warriors were selected to the list.
 
To be eligible for All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be at least a sophomore in standing both academically and athletically. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.
 
All three were selected to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District team, Academic All-Big West team, and the Big West's Commissioner's Honor Roll.
 
Watanabe led the team with a 72.97 scoring average and was named to the All-Big West honorable mention. Szpakowicz ranked second on the team with a 73.57 scoring average while Whitworth led the team with a 12 rounds of par or better.
