HONOLULU – Hawai'i women's soccer head coach
Michele Nagamine announced the promotion of
Daniel Saucedo to the role of associate head coach on Wednesday. Saucedo is entering his fourth season on the Rainbow Wahine staff in 2026, having originally joined the program in February 2023.
Since arriving on campus, Saucedo has taken a leading role in implementing UH's player development model. In his elevated role, he will continue to work closely with the student-athletes to track their progress through training, film, and performance analysis.
During his tenure, Saucedo has been a cornerstone of Hawai'i's recent success, previously serving as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator while primarily working with the team's goalkeepers. In 2024, he helped lead the Rainbow Wahine to their first-ever Big West regular-season title, as the team secured a school-record eight conference victories and tallied 25 points in the standings.
Furthermore, he coached
Kennedy Justin to the 2024 Big West Goalkeeper of the Year award, making her the first freshman to ever earn the honor. Under his guidance, Justin matched a program single-season record with 11 wins and set a school record with five consecutive shutouts.
Now in his 11th season of collegiate coaching, Saucedo brings extensive experience to his elevated role. Before his time in Hawai'i, he was an assistant coach at UMBC, where he helped the Retrievers achieve their best record in six years and post seven shutouts during the 2022 season. His coaching resume also includes stops at VMI, North Georgia, and Georgia Southwestern.
Saucedo's academic background strongly supports his focus on athletic growth and player development. He holds a bachelor's degree in kinesiology from Emmanuel College, where he also competed as a student-athlete from 2008 to 2012, and he later earned a master's degree in kinesiology from North Georgia in 2020.
