HONOLULU – For the second consecutive year, the University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team placed five players on the AVCA All-America team, including two on the first team — setter
Tread Rosenthal and outside hitter
Louis Sakanoko.
In addition, outside hitter
Adrien Roure was selected to the second team, while libero
Quintin Greenidge and middle blocker
Justin Todd earned honorable mention recognition.
The total of five honorees ties for the second-most in a single season behind a program-record six in 2023. It also marks the ninth time in the last 10 years that the Rainbow Warriors have had at least four student-athletes honored.
Four of the five were also selected to the All-Big West first team announced two weeks ago — Rosenthal, Sakanoko, Roure, and Greenidge.
Rosenthal, who was named to the first team for the second straight year, earned his third All-America recognition after being named an honorable mention in 2024. The All-America nod comes one day after he was selected as one of four finalists for the AVCA National Player of the Year Award and one week after he was picked as the Big West Player of the Year. The junior from Austin, Texas, ranks No. 2 nationally in assists per set (10.75) while directing the No. 4-ranked offense (.366).
Sakanoko, a junior from Paris, France, is having the best season of his career, averaging career-bests of 3.18 kills per set, 1.34 digs per set, and 0.62 blocks per set while hitting at a .351 clip. The outside hitter also tied his career-best with 31 aces and leads the team with 18 matches of 10+ kills.
Roure, a sophomore from Lyon, France, was a first-team All-America selection a year ago. On the year, he is hitting .319 while averaging 2.91 kills and 1.35 digs per set, and he boasts a team-best 43 aces. The outside hitter, who was named to the inaugural AVCA National Player of the Year Watch List, has reached double figures in kills 17 times.
Greenidge, a junior from Cambridge, Ontario, has started 31 matches at libero and leads the Big West in digs with a 2.07 average. Todd, a redshirt sophomore from Houston, Texas, started 30 matches at middle blocker and is averaging 1.06 blocks and 1.26 kills per set, while hitting at a .421 clip.
