DID YOU KNOW?
Isaiah Magdaleno is just the fifth pitcher nationally over the last six seasons to strike out at least 15 batters, allow one or fewer hits and one or fewer walks in a complete-game shutout. Magdaleno struck out 16 batters in a one-hit shutout last Friday vs. UC Riverside.

MAGDALENO'S MASTERPIECE
Isaiah Magdaleno turned in a historic effort on the mound in last Friday's series opener vs. UC Riverside, striking out 16 in a complete-game one-hit shutout. Magdaleno was perfect through 6.1 innings and took a no-hit bid into the ninth, allowing just a walk and an infield single. He became just the third pitcher in Hawai'i baseball history to strike out at least 16 batters in a game (Derek Tatsuno, Gerald Ako). Magdaleno is also just the fifth pitcher nationally since the 2021 season to strike out at least 16 batters in a one-hit, complete game shutout while walking one or fewer batters.

POSTSEASON PUSH
Hawai'i heads into the stretch run of the season having won five of its last six Big West series and five conference games in a row. UH has taken two games out of three against UC Santa Barbara, Cal State Fullerton, UC Irvine and CSU Bakersfield while sweeping UC Riverside in recent weeks. The Rainbow Warriors currently sit in a tie for fourth in the Big West standings - the top five teams at the end of the regular season qualify for the Big West postseason tournament.

» Series wins over second-place UC Santa Barbara and fourth-place Cal State Fullerton.
» UH is just a game behind UC San Diego for third place - the Tritons own the tiebreaker over UH.
» The top three teams in the Big West standings at the end of the season earn a bye into the double elimination portion of the bracket. The No. 4 and 5 seeds play each other in a single elimination play-in.

WINNING TIME
Hawai'i has enjoyed major success in the month of May under head coach RICH HILL, owning a 38-18 record in the final month of the season over his five years as the UH skipper. The Rainbow Warriors got the closing month off to a strong start, sweeping a three-game series vs. UC Riverside at Les Murakami Stadium to climb up the Big West standings. UH has only lost two Big West series in May under Hill and have gone at least .500 in the final month in each of his first four seasons.

» 32-8 record in Big West games in May under Hill, including a 23-4 mark at home.
» 20-1 in Big West home contests since the 2023 season.
» Only series losses in the month of May have come to Oregon State (2025), CSUN (2023), UC Irvine (2023) and Cal Poly (2022).
» Went 2-2 in last year's Big West postseason tournament, and won three elimination games in a span of seven days between the final week of the regular season and the tournament.

STARTING TO SWING IT
Hawai'i has started to heat up offensively in recent games after struggling to find a rhythm throughout the season. UH is hitting .276 over the last 19 games with double-digit hits in 11 of those games and six or more runs scored 10 times in that stretch. Prior to this recent stretch, the Rainbow Warriors were hitting .227 as a team and averaging just 4.5 runs and 7.3 hits per game.

» Batting .292 with runners in scoring position in conference games, 25 points higher than the team's average with RISP in all games of .267.
» Tate Shimao is hitting .390 over the last 22 games with eight doubles.
» Shimao is batting .345 with 10 doubles and 16 RBIs during conference play.
» Taylor Takata leads the team in hitting during Big West play with a .349 average.
» Ben Zeigler-Namoa has hit safely in 15 of the last 19 games, batting .351 over that stretch.
