QUICK HITSLAST WEEK
Although Hawai'i battled hard, the 'Bows went 1-4 last week. UH opened the week with a midweek game at No. 10 UCLA. The 'Bows hung tough early, leading 3-1, and kept fighting with rookie Briana Maio-Silva smashing a solo home run in the sixth. UH loaded the bases for Teiah Keliiholokai, who drew a walk to score Rhea Furtado to bring the tying run to the plate in the seventh. However, the Bruins prevailed, 9-5. UH opened their series at league leader UC Santa Barbara with a 4-0 loss but rebounded with a 6-0 shutout of the Gauchos in Game 2. The rubber game was a back-and-forth battle in which UH came up just short, falling 7-6.

POWER CORE
Hawai'i's offense remains anchored by a trio of hitters.
  • Millie Fidge leads the team with a blistering .400 batting average and a .780 slugging percentage, accounting for five home runs and 19 RBIs.
  • She is flanked by the consistent power of Jamie McGaughey, who leads the team in hits (33), RBIs (23), and walks (16).
  • Junior shortstop Milan Ah Yat has seen a resurgence, tying McGaughey with a team-best six home runs and raising her batting average to .271 overall
ACES IN THE CIRCLE
In the circle, the Rainbow Wahine will continue to rely heavily on Hannah Pitts and Taryn Irimata.
  • Hannah Pitts has been the team's reliable arm, posting an 8-4 record with a 2.30 ERA over 82.0 innings. Her ability to go the distance—evidenced by her five complete games—will be vital against the Gauchos.
  • Taryn Irimata serves as a cornerstone of the staff, logging 80.0 innings across 17 appearances. She leads the team with 49 strikeouts and has posted a 2.97 ERA. In Big West play, Irimata has been even sharper, lowering her ERA to 2.52 with a 4-2 record.

SCORE EARLY - Statistical breakdowns suggest a clear path to victory: score early. The Rainbow Wahine are a perfect 15-1 this season when leading after four innings and 13-1 when leading after five. Conversely, they have struggled to mount late-inning comebacks, holding a 0-11 record when trailing after six innings.Home Run Tracking: Seven different UH players have hit a total of 26 home runs this season.
