Hannah Pitts recorded a dominant outing at UC Santa Barbara to claim her second Big West Pitcher of the Week award, presented by Rawlings. Her command and presence in the circle was evident as she tossed a gem to secure a victory against the league-leading Gauchos.
In Game 2 at UCSB, Pitts fired a complete-game, 7.0-inning shutout, leading Hawai'i to a 6-0 victory. The Auburn, Ala.-native finished the week with a 0.00 ERA over 7.1 innings in two appearances. She threw 113 pitches in her start, allowing zero runs and striking out 3 while facing a potent UCSB lineup. She did not allowed any extra-base hits during her time in the circle this week and held UCSB to a .267 batting average.
Overall, Pitts improved to 8-4 overall and 5-1 in conference action. In the Big West, she has a 1.32 ERA in 42.1 innings pitched. Overall, Pitts ranks No. 7 in the NCAA averaging 1.07 walks per seven innings and is No. 12 nationally with four shutouts.
