Tread Rosenthal was named Big West Setter of the Week after helping the Rainbow Warriors sweep a two-match series against CSUN last week, clinching the regular-season title.
Rosenthal picked up his 11
th setter award in 16 weeks of the season. Throughout his career, Rosenthal has now won a total of 23 Big West weekly awards – 16 setter awards, one defensive award, and six freshmen awards.
UH's season total of 26 Player of the Week awards is nearly double that of the next-highest team (UC Irvine, 14).
The Rainbow Warriors (26-4, 9-1 BWC) enter this week's Big West Championship in Irvine, Calif., as the No. 1 seed. Having earned a bye into the semifinals, UH will meet the winner of the UC Santa Barbara vs. UC San Diego match on Friday at 5:00 p.m. PT at the Bren Events Center.

Led the team with 13 blocks (1.86 avg.) and 13 digs (1.86 avg.) … also averaged 9.00 assists per set and directed the offense to a .341 hitting percentage … served two aces and had four kills in the series … tallied seven blocks and six digs in the opener, a straight-set win and had six blocks and seven digs in the rematch, a four-set win … helped the team set a season-high 14.5 blocks in the rematch and a total of 27 blocks in the series.
