HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i women's water polo team fell to Australia 9-6 in an exhibition game at the Duke Kahanamoku Aquatic Complex on Thursday to open Senior Week.
Ema Vernoux led UH with three goals and
Agatha Weston added two for the Rainbow Wahine. UH goalkeeper
Daisy Logtens came up with 10 saves in the first three quarters. Ari Pamp, Tayla Dawkins and Hayley Ballesty scored two goals each for Australia.
The friendly was tied 5-5 entering the fourth quarter and Pamp scored the go-ahead goal to spark a 3-0 run for Australlia. Vernoux scored UH's final goal and Australia added another at the buzzer.
The Rainbow Wahine resume Big West play with a regular-season finale against Cal State Fullerton on Friday at the DKAC. The Senior Night match is set for 5 p.m.
