LONG BEACH, Calif. — The top-seeded University of Hawai'i water polo team continues its Big West Championship title defense against fourth-seeded UC Irvine in a semifinal match on Saturday, April 11 at 11:00 a.m. HT (2:00 p.m. PT) at the Ken Lindgren Aquatics Complex in Long Beach, Calif.

The Rainbow Wahine defeated eighth-seeded UC Santa Barabara 18-6 in the quarterfinals, while UC Irvine earned a 22-14 victory over fifth-seeded UC San Diego to advance to the semifinal round. UH will face UCI for a fourth time this season with the 'Bows leading the season series 3-0. The winner advances to the final set for Sunday at 2 p.m. PT (11 a.m. HT) with the champion claiming the Big West's automatic bid to the National Collegiate Women's Water Polo Championship (April 24-26, La Jolla, Calif.).

• The Rainbow Wahine continue their Big West title defense on a 27-game winning streak in conference matchups (regular season and championship) dating back to the 2024 season. 
• The 'Bows captured the Big West regular-season crown for the eighth time since joining the conference in 2013 and for the seventh time in the last eight seasons.
• UH is 26-6 all-time in the Big West Championship, including 10-2 in semifinal matches.
• Agatha Weston leads the Rainbow Wahine with 47 goals and a .618 shooting percentage.
• Weston also paces the team with 29 steals, followed by Gabrielle Doyle with 24.
• Freshman Ariadna Temprano Xambó leads the 'Bows in total points (70) and assists (33). She ranks second on the team with 37 goals scored and holds a .440 shooting percentage.
• Senior Raha Peiravani has created scoring opportunities throughout the season with a team-high 41 drawn exclusions.
• Goalkeeper Daisy Logtens has 136 saves (.455 save percentage) and 13 steals on the season. The junior's goals-against average (10.07) is the lowest in the Big West. 
• Logtens ranks fourth on UH's career saves chart with 561.
• Against UC Santa Barbara in the quarterfinals, Weston powered the offense with a team-high five goals. Temprano Xambó posted a season-high seven points with three goals and four assists and Ema Vernoux posted her sixth hat trick of the season.

• UH and UC Irvine meet for the fourth time this season with the 'Bows winning the first three meetings.
• The 'Bows hold a 4-3 edge against the Anteaters in the Big West Championship. The team last met in the tournament in the 2023 final. UC Irvine won that matchup 10-9 in overtime.
• UH and UC Irvine met in five consecutive the Big West Championship finals from 2018 to 2023.
• UH and UC Irvine have combined to win the last eight conference titles.

• Hett closed the regular season as the Big West's leader in goals scored with 70. Hett also led the conference with 20 field blocks.
• The Anteaters had 12 goal scorers in their 22-14 quarterfinal victory over UCSD, with Madi O'Hara and Michelle Urkov leading the charge with three goals each.
