IRVINE, Calif.--University of Hawai'i senior softball pitcher
Hannah Pitts earned her first Big West Pitcher of the Week award on Monday. The Auburn, Ala.-native opened the Big West season earning a pair of road wins at UC Davis. She posted a 0.54 ERA and allowed just one run in 13.0 innings while holding the Aggies to a .149 batting average.
In the series opener, Pitts fired a three-hit, complete game shut out over the Aggies. She spaced three hits with a walk and three strikeouts in her first shutout as a Rainbow Wahine. Between the first nd fourth innings, Pitts retired 11-consecutive Aggies and for the game faced just five batters over the minimum.
In the series finale, Pitts earned her second win of the series, allowing just one run in six innings as the Rainbow Wahine pulled away late to defeat UC Davis, 9-1 in seven innings. She allowed four hits with five strikeouts.
Overall, Pitts has a team-low 2.66 ERA in 12 appearances and seven starts. She has thrown a team-high 52.2 innings with five walks to 28 strikeouts.
