HONOLULU—The University of Hawai'i softball team (13-14, 5-4 Big West) returns home to host CSUN in a three-game conference series this weekend at the Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium. The two teams will face off in a single game on Friday, March 27th at 6:00 p.m. HT , followed by a doubleheader on Saturday, March 28th. First pitch is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. HT, with the second game to follow at approximately 2:30 p.m. HT. UH, CSUN and UC Davis enter the week in a three-way tie for fourth in the current Big West standings.

Series Record vs. CSUN: UH leads 27-20
Last Season vs. CSUN: The opening game of the 2025 UH/CSUN series was postponed due to unplayable field conditions. The 'Bows and Matadors split their doubleheader in Honolulu on Saturday, with CSUN winning the first game, 4-1. UH rallied to take the second game 4-3, March 15, 2025. In the series' rubber game, CSUN pulled away from Hawai'i for a 10-5 win on April 23, 2025. The two squads faced off against each other one last time in the inaugural Big West Championships, where CSUN edged out UH, 4-3, in the quarterfinals.

Hawai'i at Long Beach State: - Head coach
Panita Thanatharn returned to her alma mater where she coached for 16 years under former LBSU head coach Kim Sowder. Thanatharn led UH to a 2-1 series victory.
- Historical Milestone: UH's road series win at LBSU was only the second time since 1991, and the fourth time in program history, that UH has won a series against The Beach.
- Series Recap: After dropping an 8-7 heart-breaking, walk-off loss in the opener, UH bounced back with a dominant 10-0 run-rule victory in five innings—their largest margin of victory ever against LBSU.
UH then clinched the series holding off the Beach in a 3-2 win in the series finale.
IRIMATA NABS SECOND BIG WEST PITCHER OF THE WEEK AWARD
Sophomore pitcher
Taryn Irimata was voted Big Wets Pitcher of the Week after going 2-0 with a 0.00 ERA in 10.0 innings of work. Irimata started the second game of the series and earned a one-hit complete game, five inning shutout as UH powered past The Beach, 10-0 in five innings. Then in the series finale, Irimata entered the game in relief in the third inning with UH trailing 2-1. She shutdown LBSU for five innings, in relief to earn her second win of the series, allowing just one hit as the 'Bows were able to win the game and the series, 3-2. Overall, Irimata improved to 4-6 and 2-1 in conference action.
FIDGE ON FIRE
Since the beginning of the Cal State Fullerton series, Millie Fidge has started five games at designated player and in the lawt game at LBSY, she started her first game at first base. On offense, she has come thru for UH. She leads the team iat the plate overall hitting .458. She has hit a home run in three of the last four games--including a grand slam in the series finale against CSF. Fidge, who has been primarily used as a pitcher through her career at UH, has found a spot in the lineup with Lamie McGaughey shifting to third and
Carys Murakami to second.
