Taryn Irimata was selected as the Big West Pitcher of the Week after earning two wins and posting a perfect 0.00 ERA at Long Beach State this past weekend. Irimata helped lead UH to its first series victory over LBSU since 2019 and its first road series win at The Beach since 1991. It is the second weekly conference honor of Irmata's career after earning the accolade after the first week of the season (Feb. 9, 2026).
Irimata (4-6, 2-1 Big West) threw 10-straight innings shutting out The Beach. The right-hander from 'Ewa Beach, O'ahu allowed just two hits total across two appearances, holding Long Beach State scoreless while issuing six walks and striking out four.
Irimata fired a one-hit, complete-game shutout in Game 2 as UH run-ruled LBSU, 10-0 in five innings..It marked her first first shutout of Irimata's Rainbow Wahine career..
In the series finale, the Nevada transfer entered in relief and proceeded to blank the Beach for the second-straight game, allowing just one hit in five complete innings to clinch the series win. She gave up a walk with two strikeouts.
