SAN DIEGO – The Hawai'i women's track and field team opened up the 2026 outdoor season with a solid day of performances at the Aztec Coastal Track Classic Friday, highlighted by four program top 10 marks.
The Rainbow Wahine 4x100 relay squad of
Tara Wyllie,
Robyn Larkan,
Amelie Fairclough and
Kristin Cook provided the first program top 10 mark of the day, running a 46.38 to match the seventh-fastest relay time in school history.
Marissa Crane added another UH top 10 in a sprint event, running 56.51 in the 400m to move into ninth in Hawai'i history. Wyllie turned in a strong finish in the 100m hurdles, finishing second in the event with a time of 14.37 while also putting up a personal best in the 200m, running 25.09 to come in sixth.
Izzy Gorton highlighted the day for the UH distance crew, running 2:10.18 to move into eighth all-time in program history.
Samaria Vital and
Rose Forshaw combined on a 1-2 UH finish in the discus, with Vital posting a mark of 48.29m (158-5) and Forshaw throwing 44.57m (146-2) to lead the field. The Rainbow Wahine delivered another 1-2 finish in the long jump as Celeste Sela posted a jump of 5.62m (18-5.25) to take home the win and
Maya Holman was close behind with a 5.48m (17-11.75).
The Rainbow Wahine will finish out the weekend with a handful of entries in the PLNU Sea Lion Invite Saturday and will remain on the continent for the week ahead of the UCR Spring Classic on Mar. 21.
