Men’s Volleyball “Hawai‘i State Flag” Jersey Auction

HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team will debut special "Hawai'i State Flag" jerseys this Saturday, March 14, in their match against UCLA as part of the OUTRIGGER Invitational. These jerseys will be auctioned to support the program's Boost the 'Bows Name, Image, and Likeness (NIL) account.

The auction is free to enter, and all proceeds directly benefit the men's volleyball program. The flag of Hawai'i—Ka Hae Hawai'i—was originally designed for King Kamehameha I. It features eight horizontal stripes in white, red, and blue, representing the eight main islands. The inclusion of the British Union Jack reflects Hawai'i's historical ties to Great Britain. Introduced in 1845, it remains one of the oldest flags still in use in the United States today.

The UH-UCLA match serves as the finale of the three-day OUTRIGGER Invitational. While the match is officially sold out, resale tickets are still available through SeatGeek.

This auction follows the success of a "floral jersey" design unveiled two weeks ago, which raised $25,000 for the program.
