DID YOU KNOW?
Hawai'i is one of just five teams who have finished in the top 20 nationally in ERA in 2024 and 2025 to also be in the top 20 this year through the first month of the season. UH joins Arkansas, Texas A&M, Tennessee and UC Santa Barbara as teams to accomplish that feat.
TROPICAL SWARM
The Rainbow Warrior pitching staff remains among the national leaders in a number of categories. UH is 13th in the country with a 3.02 ERA and seventh in walks allowed per nine innings (2.71). The 'Bows also sit in the top 20 nationally in strikeout-to-walk ratio (14th), WHIP (17th), shutouts (6th) and walk percentage (8th). Additionally, Hawai'i has held opponents to three or fewer runs in nine of the 16 games, and six or fewer hits seven times.
MAGINIFICENT MAGS
Isaiah Magdaleno has solidified himself as the ace of the Rainbow Warrior pitching staff through the first month of the season. The junior made the move from closer last year, to Friday night starter this year and has posted a 3.70 ERA over 24.1 innings with 29 strikeouts to just eight walks in four starts. Magdaleno has worked at least five innings in all four outings and has given up just 16 hits all year while holding opponents to a .184 batting average.
» Third in the Big West with 29 strikeouts.
» Named Big West Pitcher of the Week after striking out 12 over 8.1 innings of two-hit ball, taking a shutout into the ninth inning before giving up an unearned run vs. Ball State on Feb. 26.
» His outing vs. the Cardinals marked the first time since 2022 (Blaze Koali'i Pontes) that a UH pitcher has struck out at least 12 batters.
HILO'S FINEST
One of the biggest additions to the Rainbow Warrior pitching staff through four weeks has been junior
Hekili Robello. The Hilo native and Santa Rosa JC transfer has gotten the game two start in each series in 2026, owning a 3-0 record. He currently has a 1.14 ERA in 23.2 innings with 27 strikeouts to just three walks.
» Named to the National Collegiate Pitcher of the Year watch list.

» Worked six innings and struck out nine while walking just one vs. Wichita State on Feb. 20
BACK ON TRACK
The Rainbow Warriors bounced back from a weekend sweep by dismantling Chaminade, 15-0, in a run-rule shortened win Tuesday. Five UH pitchers combined on a two-hit shutout, holding the Silverswords hitless into the sixth inning. The 'Bows scored in every inning but the sixth and plated seven runs in the fifth inning to break things open.
Kody Watanabe led the offense with a career-high six RBIs while
Dylan Waite got the win on the mound, throwing 2.2 scoreless innings.
