Turban continued her dominant reign atop the MPSF in the high jump, winning her fourth consecutive conference indoor crown with a mark of 1.79m (5-10.5). She is the only athlete in UH history to win four conference titles in the same event indoors, and one of just two in school history to do it either indoor or outdoor (Annett Wichmann – Heptathlon).
The 'Bows went 1-2 in the event, with Turban and
Lisa Martensson finishing as the only two in the field to clear 1.79m and Turban beating out her teammate by having one fewer failed attempt at the winning height.
Enriquez claimed the MPSF pole vault title in a thrilling finish, winning a jump-off tiebreaker to put the first 10 UH points on the board. The freshman cleared 3.88m (12-8.75) in her series, but finished tied with Long Beach State's Jonelle Scott who also had three misses at 4.03m. Enriquez won the jump off when she cleared 3.93m (12-10.75), setting a new collegiate personal best in the process.
Lindsey Koch came in fourth in the pole vault to add five points to the UH total. The sophomore also cleared 3.88m (12-8.75), but had a trio of misses earlier in her series to keep her out of the jump off.
Samaria Vital added three points for the Rainbow Wahine with a toss of 16.89m (55-5) in the weight throw to finish sixth. She also improved her personal best and No. 8 mark in program history.
