Taryn Irimata was voted Big West Pitcher of the Week on Monday. Irimata, a sophomore transfer, went 2-0 with a 1.00 ERA in 14 innings of work in her Rainbow Wahine debut during the Bank of Hawai'i Paradise Classic.
Irimata, who is from 'Ewa Beach, O'ahu, began her collegiate career at Nevada before transferring home to UH this past Fall. She fired a pair of complete-game wins allowing just a single run against both SeattleU and Pacific. Irimata held opponents to a scant .143 batting average while issuing four walks and striking out nine.
In UH's season opener against SeattleU, she scattered three hits with three walks and two strikeouts. Against Pacific, she spaced four hits with a walks and seven strikeouts.
