Women's Basketball Faces Cal State Fullerton on Senior Night

HONOLULU — The University of Hawai'i women's basketball team closes out the 2025-26 home schedule by taking on Cal State Fullerton on Senior Night on Saturday, Feb. 28 at Bankoh Arena at Stan Sheriff Center.
 
The Rainbow Wahine enter the home finale with a five-game winning streak and have won 11 of their last 12 games since dropping their first five conference contests. They extended their current streak with a 67-46 rout of UC Davis on Thursday.
 
Following Saturday's game, the Rainbow Wahine will honor the senior class of Izzy Forsyth, Saniyah Neverson and Imani Perez. The game will also mark UH's final home game as a Big West member before moving to the Mountain West next season.

Promotions Saturday will be filled with special memories and a few tears as we say "Aloha" and "Mahalo" to three seniors who have made an impact on the Rainbow Wahine basketball program, courtesy of University of Hawai'i Federal Credit Union
  • Fans are asked to wear their favorite white UH shirt in honor of the three seniors.
  • After the game, three players and three student staff members will be honored for their efforts and contributions to the program. Fans are asked to wait unitl after the ceremony to give leis to the players.

'BOWS NOTES
  • Saturday's game will have significant seeding implications for Hawai'i and Cal State Fullerton heading into the Credit Union 1 Big West Women's Basketball Championship set for March 11-14 in Henderson, Nev. Cal State Fullerton sits in fourth place in the conference standings, a game ahead of Hawai'i. A top-four seed comes with a bye in the opening round of the tournament.
  • Freshman guard Bailey Flavell continues to lead UH with 13.3 points per game and is on track to become the first freshman to lead the team in scoring since the 2010-11 season.
  • Saniyah Neverson has surged late in her senior season, averaging 14.4 points and seven rebounds over the last five games. She is shooting 58.1% from the field, and is 5-for-7 from 3-point range over that span.
  • UH has 158 blocked shots this season, the second highest single-season total in program history. The 'Bows enter the game five blocks away from the UH record set in 2002-03 season.
  • UH leads the Big West and ranks eighth in the nation with 5.9 blocks per game. UH's rate of blocked shots remains ahead of the program record of 5.6 set in the 2004-05 season.
  • Senior forward Imani Perez continues to anchor the UH defense and ranks first in the Big West and 45th nationally with 1.62 blocked shots per game.
  • UH remains second in the Big West and ranks 13th nationally in field-goal percentage defense in holding opponents to 35.8% shooting.
  • UH has held its last 13 opponents under 60 points and ranks second in the Big West in scoring defense overall at 57.6 points allowed per game. During their five-game winning streak, the 'Bows are limiting opponents to 52 points per game on 33.7% shooting.

  • The Rainbow Wahine and Titans meet for the 56th time in a series that dates back to Dec. 17, 1983, a 64-45 Cal State Fullerton victory.
  • Cal State Fullerton won this season's first meeting 82-80 on Dec. 6 in Fullerton, Calif., as part of the Big West's "Bold Week." The Titans ended UH's 12-game winning streak in the series dating back to 2020. Bailey Flavell led four UH players in double figures with 17 points, Imani Perez posted a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.
  • UH is 19-5 against the Titans in Honolulu and has won the last 15 home games in the series. Cal State Fullerton last won at UH on Jan. 13, 1995.
  • John Bonner is in his first season as Cal State Fullerton's head coach. He was previously the head coach at Cal State Dominguez Hills and led the Toros to the NCAA Division II final last season.
  • Cristina Jones leads the Titans with 16.4 points and 9.8 rebounds per game. She leads the Big West and ranks fifth in the nation with 3.85 steals per game.
  • The Titans lead the nation with 15.8 steals per game and rank second nationally with 26.37 turnovers forced per game. Fullerton scored 31 points off of UH turnovers in this season's first meeting.
ALOHA SENIORSSaturday's game will mark the final home appearances for UH's senior class of Izzy Forsyth, Saniyah Neverson and Imani Perez.
  • Forsyth joined the Rainbow Wahine as a transfer from UC San Diego, where she earned a reputation as a 3-point threat over three seasons with the Tritons and served as a team captain. She sat out the 2024-25 season due to injury and made her return to action as a senior with the 'Bows. She has appeared in 25 games this season and has made 10 3-pointers.
  • Neverson was the Big Sky Top Reserve of the Year last season at Northern Arizona and established a starting role with the 'Bows in her final season. She has started all 27 games this season and has provided stability as one of UH's most consistent players. She ranks second on the team in scoring (9.2 ppg), rebounding (5.1 rpg) and field-goal percentage (.482).
  • Perez has earned a place among the top defensive players in program history over her four years in Mānoa. A two-time Big West All-Defensive Team selection, she ranks seventh in career blocked shots and has the ability to guard every position on the court. She's also among the program's most efficient shooters with a .513 career field-goal percentage. Perez has contributed to three Big West titles (two regular season, one tournament) while developing into a leader in her senior season.
