PALM DESERT, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team completed the first round of the Alice and John Wallace Classic with a 310, Saturday at the Monterey Country Club.
The Rainbow Wahine currently sits in 16
th place in a field that features four nationally ranked teams, including second-ranked USC, who holds the lead at 269. Host Long Beach State is second at 290 followed by Boise State (291) and No. 11 UCLA (293).
UH's top finisher was
Maline Kraus, who shot 5-over 76 and is tied for 51
st place.
Emiko Sverduk,
Jasmine Wong, and
Sofina Firouzi each shot 7-over 78 and are tied for 68
th place while
Chloe Ku posted 80 and is tied for 78
th.
Kaydence Kim is competing as an individual and also shot 80.
USC's Jasmine Koo posted 7-under 64 and has a three-shot lead over teammate Kylie Chong and Grand Canyon's Alexi Vakasiuola (67).
The tournament continues with Round 2 on Sunday with an 8:00 a.m. PT shotgun start.
