HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team closed out the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Sunday, posting a final-round 299 (+11) to finish the three-day tournament in 15th place at the University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch.
The Rainbow Wahine finished with a 54-hole team total of 902 (+38).
Senior
Olivia Jang paced Hawai'i in Sunday's final round, firing a team-best 1-over 73 to climb up the individual leaderboard. Jang rolled in four birdies on the day, concluding the tournament in a tie for 62nd overall at 12-over 228 (77-78-73).
Sophomore
Chloe Ku finished as Hawai'i's top scorer for the weekend, carding a 77 (+5) on Sunday to finish tied for 38th place at 8-over 224 (76-71-77).
Freshman
Kady Matsumoto posted a final-round 75 (+3) to finish tied for 55th at 11-over 227 (78-74-75). Sophomore
Kaydence Kim carded a 2-over 74 to tie Jang for 62nd at 12-over 228 (77-77-74), while junior
Jasmine Wong recorded a 77 to tie for 67th at 13-over 229 (79-73-77).
UNLV captured the team title in a dramatic finish, carding a 2-over 290 in the final round to finish at 6-under 858, narrowly holding off a late charge by Xavier (859) to win by a single stroke. The individual medalist honors were shared by Xavier's Isabel Brozena, Denver's Logan Hale, and Tulane's Sophia Macias, who all finished tied atop the leaderboard at 7-under 209.
Hawai'i will return home for its next tournament, hosting the Rainbow Wahine Invitational from Oct. 19-21. The three-day event will take place at the Ocean Course at Hokuala in Lihu'e, Kaua'i.
