HIGHLANDS RANCH, Colo. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team opened play at the Ron Moore Intercollegiate on Friday, posting a first-round score of 308 (+20) to sit in 15
th place at the University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch.
Chloe Ku paced the Rainbow Wahine on the opening day, carding a 4-over 76 to finish the first 18 holes tied for 55th place.
Olivia Jang and
Kaydence Kim followed closely behind in the Hawai'i lineup, each posting a 5-over 77 to head into the clubhouse tied for 63rd overall.
Freshman
Kady Matsumoto sits in 72nd place after shooting a first-round 78 (+6), while
Jasmine Wong wrapped up the day with a 79 (+7) to tie for 73rd.
Tulane currently holds the 18-hole team lead after firing a 9-under 279, taking a six-stroke advantage over second-place UNLV (285). A three-way tie sits atop the individual leaderboard, featuring Denver's Logan Hale, Boise State's Leia Chung, and Tulane's Sophia Macias, all of whom carded an opening-round 5-under 67.
The second round of the three-day, 54-hole tournament continues on Saturday.
