FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team completed its season-opening tournament on Tuesday, finishing in a tie for 11^th place at the Ben Connell Ram Classic at Ptarmigan Country Club.
 
The Rainbow Wahine posted a final round score of 299 (+11) to finish the 54-hole event with an 886 (+22) team total, sharing 11^th place with Southern Miss.
 
Purdue Fort Wayne transfer Olivia Jang delivered a standout performance in her debut tournament for Hawai'i. The senior fired a team-best 2-under 70 in Tuesday's final round, surging up the leaderboard to finish tied for 19^th place. Jang carded rounds of 73, 74, and 70 to wrap up the tournament at 1-over 217.
 
Jasmine Wong and Kady Matsumoto finished tied for 45^th place at 8-over 224. Wong posted a final round 74 (+2), while Matsumoto shot an 80 (+8) to close out her first collegiate tournament.
 
Sophomore Kaydence Kim finished in a tie for 50^th at 10-over 226 after shooting a 79 in the final round. Chloe Ku placed 73^rd overall with an 18-over 234 total.
 
UNLV captured the team title with a dominant 19-under 845, cruising to a 15-stroke victory over runner-up Washington (860). UNLV's Kuree Little took home individual medalist honors at 12-under 204, finishing six strokes ahead of the field.
 
The Rainbow Wahine will return to action next month when they travel to Denver, Colo., for the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, scheduled for Oct. 2-4.
