SEATTLE – Robyn Larkan and
Isabella Kneeshaw each set program records as the Hawai'i track and field team turned in a strong day of sprints to begin the UW Invite Friday at the Dempsey Indoor Center.
Larkan built off her stellar opening meet by shattering the school record on the way to picking up the win in the 60m hurdles. The junior transfer first broke the program record with a time of 8.40 in the prelims before lowering it again in the final with a time of 8.38, besting the previous UH record of 8.51 set by Zhane Santiago in 2015.
Larkan also moved up to second all-time at UH in the 60m dash with a time of 7.55 in the prelims to become the top qualifier. She then ran a 7.57 in the final to finish fourth in the meet.
Kneeshaw lowered her own program indoor 400m with a time of 55.03 to finish third in the meet and beat the mark she posted in the season opener two weeks ago by .57 seconds.
UH finished off the opening day of action in Seattle with a victory in the 4x400m relay. The squad of
Amelie Fairclough,
Nora Fischer,
Marissa Crane and Kneeshaw crossed the line first with the second-best time in program history, running 3:43.53.
