IRVINE, Calif. – For the seventh time in his career, University of Hawai'i setter
Tread Rosenthal has been selected as the Big West Setter of the Week, after leading the Rainbow Warriors to a pair of wins over Rockhurst last week.
The honor marks the 14
th career weekly award for the junior from Austin, Texas and third this season, including his second setter of the week recognition.
Rosenthal only played in the two Rockhurst matches last week as the Rainbow Warriors also won two more against Roberts Wesleyan. He tallied 81 assists (11.57 avg.) in the two matches in addition to four aces, four digs, six kills, and three blocks. In the opener, Rosenthal had 44 assists, two kills, two aces, two digs, and two blocks and followed with 37 assists, four kills, two aces, two digs, and one block in the rematch. He directed an offense that hit a combined .439 in the series, including a season-high .500 in the rematch.
UH (7-1) is idle this week and remains No. 3 in the AVCA Top 20 Coaches Poll. Hawai'i will next play three road matches at Saint Francis and Penn State next week.
