SEATTLE – The Hawai'i women's track and field team capped off its season opening meet at the UW Preview with a slew of program top-10 marks, highlighted by a pair of school records Saturday at the Dempsey Indoor Center.
Isabella Kneeshaw lowered her own school record in the indoor 400m while
Catherine Touchette shattered the program 600m record while the Rainbow Wahine combined for 14 total school top 10 marks.
Kneeshaw ran a 55.60 to come in just ahead of her previous school record time of 55.67 while Touchette ran 1:29.86 in the 600m to lower the program record by over two seconds in the 600m.
In her UH debut, Tulane transfer
Robyn Larkan posted three new school top 10 marks in sprint events. Larkan took home the meet title in the 60m hurdles and moved into third all-time in Hawai'i history with a time of 8.59 in the final. She also turned in the third-fastest 60m dash in UH history (7.61) while jumping up to fifth in program history in the 200m dash with a time of 24.96.
Freshman
Lisa Martensson posted two new program top 10 marks in her collegiate debut, moving into ninth in the high jump clearing 1.73m (5-8) while sliding into second in program history in the 600m run with a time of 1:31.16, just behind Touchette.
Lilian Turban tied Martensson in the high jump while also moving into eighth in UH history in the shot put with a personal best of 14.31m (46-11.5).
Two more UH newcomers cracked the program top 10 lists in their debuts, with freshman
Ava Enriquez moving into third all-time in the pole vault with a mark of 3.88m (12-8.75) and transfer
Izzy Gorton running the fifth-fastest indoor 800m time in UH history with a time of 2:11.12.
UH's distance crew added three more new top 10 marks in the 1000m run, with
Ruby Brook moving into third all-time (2:53.76),
Emilie Kirk Langschwager running the fourth-fastest time (2:55.38) and
Lucy Becker cracking the top five in fifth place (2:59.20).
The Rainbow Wahine return to action back in Seattle at the UW Invite, Jan. 30-31.
