MISHIMA CITY, Japan – The third and final round of the Pan Pacific University Golf Super League was cancelled Friday due to inclement weather with the University of Hawai'i women's golf team finishing in eighth place.
The Rainbow Wahine finished the tournament with a 36-hole score of 588.
Nihon University was crowned team champion at 3-under 565 followed by UCLA (566), Meiji University (567), Fukui University of Technology (569), and Tohoku Fukushi University (570).
Maline Kraus was UH's top finisher at 12
th place at even par 142.
Emiko Sverduk tied for 23
rd at 4-over 146 while
Wendy Song finished 10-over 152 and tied for 46
th.
Varnika S. Achanta tied for 49
th at 11-over 153 and
Sofina Firouzi totaled 165 and finished in 63
rd place.
UCLA's Maye Huang, Nihon's Nagi Kuramochi and Meiji's Shio Chaki shared medalist honors at 5-under 137.
The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in the Leadership and Golf Invitational, Monday, Sept. 15 and Tuesday, Sept. 16 at Chambers Bay Golf Course in University Place, Wash.
