Five Rainbow Warriors Earn Big West Postseason Honors

IRVINE, Calif. – The Hawai'i baseball team had five different players earn All-Big West postseason recognitions Tuesday, headlined by Cooper Walls taking home conference freshman pitcher of the year honors.

Bullpen ace Isaiah Magdaleno and two-way player Itsuki Takemoto earned spots on the first team while Matthew Miura and Ben Zeigler-Namoa received second-team recognition. It's the first time since 2018 that the Rainbow Warriors have had four players take home either first or second-team All-Big West honors.

Walls is the just the second Hawai'i player ever to be named the Big West Freshman Pitcher of the Year, joining Dylan Thomas in 2017. He is also only the third UH player to claim any kind of Big West postseason individual award, joining Thomas and Scotty Scott (2019 Freshman Field Player of the Year).
