HONOLULU – The Hawai'i women's track and field team will look to continue its recent stretch of strong conference championship finishes when it heads to the Big West Championships Friday and Saturday in Long Beach, Calif.
The Rainbow Wahine have placed in the top three as a team at each of the last three Big West championship meets, putting at least six athletes on the podium each of those years. Prior to 2022's runner-up finish that started that stretch, UH had not finished in the top three of a conference title meet since 1985.

Hawai'i will begin this weekend's action with six points already on the board thanks to
Catherine Touchette's career week at the Big West Multis Championship. The junior posted PRs in five of the seven heptathlon events to finish third in the conference with 5,496 points, the second-most in school history.
Four other Rainbow Wahine come into this meet having taken a Big West gold medal home at some point in their careers.
Lilian Turban is a three-time Big West podium finisher and won the conference high jump title in 2023. She also comes into the meet leading the conference in the javelin and fifth in the shot put.
Isabella Kneeshaw contributed to three gold medals as a freshman last year, winning the 400m conference title while anchoring both the 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams that took home Big West titles.
Sammie Gordon has been a part of three relay medal-winning teams in her career, including 4x400m relay winning squads in 2022 and 2024.
Tara Wyllie will look to recapture the success of her freshman year in 2023 when she took home the Big West triple jump crown.
Hawai'i heads into the weekend with six conference top-three marks. Turban and Wyllie lead the Big West in the javelin and triple jump, respectively, while freshman
Lucy Milliner is third in the conference in both the 800m and 1500m.
Helen Hoadley is second in the Big West in the pole vault and Turban is also third in the league in the high jump.
