QUICK HITSLAST WEEK
UH and UCSB's opening game of their three-game series was rained out. Hawai'i edged out the Gauchos, 4-3, on a game-winning solo home run by
Milan Ah Yat in the sixth to extend UH's season-long win streak to six. But UCSB snapped UH's streak as they rallied for four runs in the fifth to defeat UH in the second game, 5-3 for a split.
LATE INNING HEROICS
Twelve of UH's 26 win have been "come-from-behind" victories. Two weeks, Hawai'i found themselves trailing 4-0 going into the fifth inning at Cal State Bakersfield in the second game. But the 'Bows rallied to score four runs in the fifth to tie the score and a combined four runs in the final two innings to pull out an 8-5 win to clinch their fourth-straight series. Three of the come-from-behind wins have come as walk off wins. In UH's series finales at Cal State Fullerton and UC Riverside, the 'Bows rallied to score multiple runs in the seventh to clinch the win and the series. At CSF, the 'Bows scored five runs in the top of the seventh to defeat the Titans, 6-2 to capture just its third road series vs. CSF in program history. The following week against the Highlanders, UH was down 0-2 going into the bottom of the seventh. UH's 7th, 8th, and 9th batters all reached on singles with no outs.
Izabella Martinez tied the score by drilling a two-run single up the middle. After a strikeout,
Milan Ah Yat notched her second walk off win hitting a grounder to short to drive in
Larissa Goshi from third for the walk off winning run to defeat the Highlanders, 3-2.
Last week, although the 'Bows never trailed in their opener vs. UC Santa Barbara, UH found itself tied 3-3 going into the bottom of the sixth.
Milan Ah Yat promptly led off the frame with her fifth homer of the year to give UH a 4-3 lead heading into the seventh inning.
DEFENSE CONTINUES TO LEAD BIG WEST
Since March 2, the Rainbow Wahine have led the Big West with the top fielding percentage. Coming into this week, the 'Bows had a season-best .979 fielding percentage to lead the league and be ranked No. 10 in the NCAA DI. UH had a streak of eight-straight errorless games snapped after they committed two costly errors in their makeup game at CSUN this past Wednesday. UH first baseman
Jamie McGaughey leads the UH starters with a 1.000 fielding % with 225 putouts, and two assists.

During that 10 game span, she has recorded 13 hits in 31 at-bats, scoring seven runs and driving in four runs. Overall, she is hitting .378 and in conference, she leads UH with a .419 batting average.
