AZUSA, Calif. – For the third time this year, freshman
Lucy Milliner broke the school 1500m record to highlight the final day of competition at the Bryan Clay Invitational Friday.
In the final event of the meet for the Rainbow Wahine, Milliner crossed the line in 4:21.11 to lower her own record in the 1500m by nearly two seconds. The Woodbury, England native is now over five seconds faster than any other athlete in school history in the event.
Helen Hoadley turned in another strong outing in the pole vault, coming in second with a mark of 4.05m (13-3.5). The senior set the school record of 4.18m earlier this season and has finished in the top five in all four meets during the outdoor season.
Catherine Touchette posted a solid showing in the 400m hurdles, crossing the line in 1:00.74, coming just .21 seconds away from matching her personal best of 1:00.53, which is sixth all-time at UH.
Big West leader
Tara Wyllie finished runner-up in the triple jump with a mark of 12.76m (41-10.5) in her first outing after earning conference field athlete of the week honors. Wyllie has now finished in the top four in the triple jump in all three meets.
The Rainbow Wahine will return to the mainland for the Steve Scott Invitational, May 2-3 in Irvine, Calif.
