FIRST SERVE
- Hawai'i leads the all-time series with UC San Diego, 64-7, which is the most wins against a single-opponent in program history.
- UH holds a 31-2 advantage in Honolulu with its two losses occurring in 2012 and 2021. Hawai'i swept a two-match series in the last meeting in Honolulu in 2023.
- The Tritons have a win over Hawai'i in three of the past four seasons — 2021 Big West Tournament semifinals in Honolulu, 2022 regular season in La Jolla, and 2024 regular season in La Jolla. UH is 6-3 vs. UCSD since 2021.
- Both teams were idle last week. UH saw its 10-match win snapped by USC in the championship match of the OUTRIGGER Invitational while UCSD has won seven straight since dropping a two-match series to Grand Canyon last month.
- The teams have played four common opponents this season — McKendree, Lindenwood. Stanford, and Princeton. UH played a two-match series against each and went 7-1 with a loss to Stanford. UCSD played single matches and went 4-0.
- Both teams are 2-0 in Big West play this season. UH swept a two-match series with UC Irvine in Honolulu — both in straight sets — while the Tritons swept a pair of matches with UC Santa Barbara in four sets each, the first meeting in Santa Barbara and the rematch in La Jolla.
- UH is 28-4 all-time in Big West regular season home matches, including a 6-0 mark against UC San Diego.
- One more victory will mark UH's 14th 20-win season all-time and seventh under head coach Charlie Wade. It would also be UH's fourth straight 20-win season.
- Wade is now five wins shy from matching former coach Mike Wilton's all-time program record of 316 victories. Wade has a 311-127 record in 16 seasons at Hawai'i.
- Following this week's series, UH will play two-match series at CSUN (April 4-5), at home versus top-ranked Long Beach State (April 11-12), and at UC Santa Barbara (April 18-19) to close out the regular season. Hawai'i will host the Big West Championship (April 24-26) for the fifth time.
