TUCSON, Ariz. – The University of Hawai'i men's golf team is in 13
th place when play was suspended on the first day of the Arizona Thunderbird Intercollegiate Monday at the Tucson Country Club. The Rainbow Warriors were still on the course when darkness set in.
Leading the way for the UH was
Tyler Ogawa, who is 2-over with two holes still to play in his second round. The rest of the team, including
Dane Watanabe were able to complete both of their rounds. Watanabe carded 3-over 75 and 2-over 74.
In addition, other Rainbow Warriors in the field include
James Whitworth (80-77),
Nathan Szpakowicz (76-82), and
Josh Hayashida (82-87).
Garrett Takeuchi, who is competing as an individual, who an opening round 77 and was still on the course when play was suspended.
The second round will be completed in the morning with the third and final round scheduled for later in the day.
