HONOLULU – The third-ranked University of Hawai'i men's volleyball team will host the 29th OUTRIGGER Volleyball Invitational, Thursday, March 13 through Saturday, March 15 at SimpliFi Arena at Stan Sheriff Center. In addition, to the host Rainbow Warriors (17-1), the tournament features No. 5 USC (13-2), No. 12 Ball State (13-6), and No. 19 Penn State (5-10). The OUTRIGGER is considered the premiere in-season tournament in collegiate men's volleyball.

FIRST SERVE

• Hawai'i has 11 overall OUTRIGGER titles, including five of the last seven (2016, '17, '19, '20, and '24) with an all-time tournament record of 53-29. The tournament was held every year since 1996 with the exception of 2021 and '22 due to the COVID pandemic.
• UH has won its last four matches in the OUTRIGGER Invitational and is 19-2 dating back to 2016.
• UH is in the midst of a nine-match homestand (currently 4-0) and is 11-1 at SimpliFi Arena this season.
• Penn State is making its 23rd all-time appearance and has three tournament titles, most recently in its last appearance in 2023. The Nittany Lions have a 23-40 all-time tournament record with titles in 2008, '09, and '23.
• Ball State is making its seventh appearance and has a 5-13 all-time record. The Cardinals' best finish was runner-up in 2017.
• USC is making its third appearance and first since 2010. The Trojans have a 4-2 mark, finishing runner-up in both 2009 and '10. 
• Hawai'i leads the all-time series with Penn State, 17-10, including a 13-8 mark in the OUTRIGGER Invitational. The Nittany Lions won the last meeting in the tournament in 2023, winning in four sets.
• UH is 16-5 all-time against Ball State, including a 6-1 mark in the OUTRIGGER Invitational. Hawai'i has won the last four in the series.
• Hawai'i leads the all-time series with USC, 45-37. The teams split the two previous matches in the OUTRIGGER Invitational. UH has won the last four in the series, including the last two match-ups in 2018 and '19 in the season-opening Rainbow Warrior Classic tournament.
• UH is 17-1 through the first 18 matches of the season for the fifth time since 2019.
• UH head coach Charlie Wade is now seven wins away from matching former coach Mike Wilton's all-time program record of 316 victories.
