IRVINE, Calif.— University of Hawai'i softball pitcher
Addison Kostrencich earned Big West Pitcher of the Week honors after going 2-1 with a complete game shutout last week. It is the first time the senior has garnered the conference's weekly honor.
Kostrencich recorded a team-low 2.17 ERA in a team-high 19.1 innings pitched. The Ranchos Palos Verdes native opened the week earning a 2-1 win at Cal Baptist. She gave up one run on five hits with a walk and two strikeouts in the win over the Lancers.
In the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, she earned her first complete-game shutout win this season over Nevada. She spaced seven hits with no walks and six strikeouts in the 4-0 victory over the Wolf Pack.
Against LMU, she suffered her first loss of the week as the Lions came through with a walk-off win vs. UH. She allowed five runs on nine hits with three strikeouts.
Kostrencich currently sits second in The Big West in innings pitched (47.5) and third in the conference in wins with five. UH has racked up a 10-6 overall record so far in 2025.
Overall, she has a team-best 2.35 ERA and is 5-3 overall. She has fired five complete games and has 24 strikeouts to just eight walks.
Kostrencich is the first UH pitcher to earn the Big West honor since Key-Annah Campbell-Pua earned the honor on Feb. 20, 2023.
