PALM DESERT, Calif. – The University of Hawai'i women's golf team tied for 12
th place at the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic following Monday's final round at the Monterey Country Club.
The Rainbow Wahine shot a 297 on Monday for an 891 total to finish fourth among the six Big West teams in the 21-team field. Oregon went wire-to-wire to capture the team title at 818, which included a final round 18-under 266. The fifth-ranked Ducks ran away with the championship by 23 strokes over No. 3 USC (841).
Cal State Fullerton was the highest Big West team, placing fourth at 869 followed by UC Davis (876, 7
th) and Long Beach State (880, t-8
th).
Maline Kraus was UH's top finisher, tying for 27
th place at 6-over 219 after carding 77 on Monday.
Emiko Sverduk and
Kellie Yamane tied for 44
th place at 10-over 223.
Oregon's Suvichaya Vinijchaitham shot a final round 7-under 64 to win medalist honors at 12-under 201, two strokes clear of teammate Kiara Romero and USC's Catherine Park, who finished at 10-under 203.

The Rainbow Wahine will next compete in the MountainView Collegiate, March 2-4 in Tucson, Ariz.
