HONOLULU – The University of Hawai'i women's golf program has unveiled its upcoming slate of competitions for the 2026-27 season. This year marks the program's inaugural season in the Mountain West.
The schedule is highlighted by the program's two celebrated annual home tournaments. During the fall season, the Rainbow Wahine Invitational will take place from October 19-21, at the Ocean Course Hokuala in Līhu'e, Kaua'i. The university first began hosting a fall tournament in 1997, and this tournament has now been played for 27 years, with its only hiatus occurring in 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the spring, Hawai'i will host its signature event, the 41
st annual Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational, from March 22-24, at the Royal Kā'anapali Golf Course in Maui. This prestigious event originally teed off in 1986 and was played on the island of O'ahu for the first 37 years before moving to Kaua'i's Ocean Course at Hokuala in 2024 and Maui's Royal Kā'anapali in 2025. The tournament was played at O'ahu's Pearl at Kalauao last year.
The 2026-27 campaign officially begins on the continent with the Connell Resources Ram Classic, hosted by Colorado State at the Ptarmigan Country Club in Fort Collins, Colo., Sept. 21-22. The team will return to the Rocky Mountains for the Ron Moore Intercollegiate, hosted by Denver at the University of Denver Golf Club, Oct. 2-4.
Following the Rainbow Wahine Invite, the fall season concludes in Hawai'i Island for the Nanea Invitational, Oct. 26-28. Hosted by Stanford, the event will be played at the exclusive Nanea Golf Club in Kailua-Kona, Hawai'i.
The spring slate opens in Palm Desert, Calif., at the Alice and John Wallace Classic, hosted by Long Beach State at the Monterey Country Club, Feb. 13-15. Next, the Rainbow Wahine will travel to the Ninth Island for UNLV's Lady Luck Invitational at the Las Vegas Country Club, March 1-2.
After returning home to host the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invite, the team heads back to California for the Silverado Showdown, April 5-7. This late-season test is co-hosted by Colorado and Colorado State at the Silverado Resort North Course in Napa.
The Rainbow Wahine will compete in their first Mountain West Championship, April 20-22, at the Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
