PALM DESERT, Calif. – University of Hawai'i's
Maline Kraus continued her solid play at the Alice and John Wallace Women's Golf Classic, shooting a 2-under 69 in the second round Sunday at the Monterey Country Club.
The Düsseldorf, Germany native is even par for the tournament at 142 and is one of just 17 golfers among the 120-player field at even par or better. Kraus is tied for 12
th place heading into Sunday's final round.
Oregon's Kiara Romero holds the individual lead at 6-under 136 after her second straight 68 and holds a one stroke lead over her teammates Karen Tsuru and Suvichaya Vinijchaitham along with Washington's Vivian Lu.
As a team, the Rainbow Wahine climbed up the leaderboard into a tie for 11
th place with Boise State and Grand Canyon after a second round 293 for a 594 total. No. 5 Oregon extended its lead to 12 strokes over No. 3 USC and are 16-under 552. Both are the only teams under par in the 21-team field.
