ANAHEIM, Calif.—The University of Hawai'i cheerleading team is competing in the 2025 USA Spirit Nationals at the Anaheim Convention Center from Feb. 13-17. It is the first time the squad will be competing in this event.
Activities began on Thursday with Group Stunt divisions. Preliminary Competition in all Show Cheer and Crowdleader ™ Teams divisions will take place on Friday, February 14th. Show Cheer, and Crowdleader ™ Teams division finals and Game Day Divisions will take place on Saturday, February 15th.
The UH cheer team is known nationally for their creativity and innovation in their routines, the UH cheer squad has placed in the Top 10 in 17 appearances covering a 25-year span at the UCA Nationals in Orlando, Fla.
This year's team is a combination of youth and experience. Since the end of the Fall season, the cheer team has ramped up their practices in between working all the arena sports to really focus on their routine for the National stage.
Teams will be judged on crowd interaction and skills—including partner stunts, pyramids, basket tosses, tumbling and overall impression.
